GEORGE PENCIL ART

Fine Art by George McPhee

It is a great joy to discover with God’s help the creation of art as a main focus for my life, after retiring in 2020 from various non-art professional jobs. The passion of creating art that I had in my high school, college, and young adult years re-emerged more strongly. I felt ready to appreciate again the solitude that comes with many hours spent in the art studio, creating the art meditatively, and accepting the challenges that come with each personal art goal.
It’s where I am meant to be.

I design compositions using subjects that interest me the most, using a reference photo or a combination of photos, to create realistic art. Occasionally I venture into combining realism with some stylized elements  in the background. Currently my favorite subject is a person engaged in some kind of everyday activity. I also enjoy doing a variety of wildlife images, and homes or other architecture in some landscaped scenery.  I have a goal to do four commissions per year using your photos to recreate the image in a painting or charcoal drawing! It may be a pet, another loved one, or a special home or building. Costs vary by size, number of faces/subjects, and type of background. Originals are available for USA or Canada.

Shiloh... "It looks lovely. I showed it to a friend and she wants you to draw her dog."

Woman in Triumph... "She absolutely loves the drawing. It brought her to tears of joy."

Richard Home Portrait... "Very pleased with the outcome. The colors are vibrant and the small details bring out the fine effort that went into producing the artwork."

Commission Me
I use the highest quality professional lightfast colored pencils, and the same for pastel pencils or pan pastels, for my colorful paintings to sell as Originals. The paper is always acid free. (The paper brands vary). I also very much enjoy charcoal to create black and white compositions.  Graphite is my alternative black and white work.
